Tuesday 18 September 2012, AmbITion Scotland hosted a series of One-to-One Surgeries in Glasgow in partnership with Shelley Breckenridge from Interface – The knowledge connection for business. Interface connects companies with Scotland’s universities and research institutes, giving businesses access to academic expertise and research.

Organisations from the world of dance, literature, music and visual art attended to find out how a partnership with academia could help them explore a new idea or get help solving a problem. Attendees explored projects such as sharing a digital archive; building an app to allow users to experience site specific performance after work has been performed; digital development for staff and systems, and the functionality of search algorithms.

AmbITion Scotland is partnering with Interface to help our constituency of organisations in arts, culture and heritage access the range of support that is available to them through the higher education sector in Scotland.

Interface has access to a broad range of academic departments within Scottish higher education and can help broker relationships with academic researchers and students most relevant for the organisation and the project.

You can learn more about Interface’s brokerage service in our online support section. If you want to take advantage of Interface’s support opportunities use the enquiry form to tell them about your idea.

At AmbITion Scotland we’ve know that internships, too, are another way that organisations can connect with higher education. Read more here for tips & resources for best practice.

And the best news of all? Our one-to-one surgeries with Interface were such a success we’re looking to run more in the new year.
